The Best Salads in Fort Worth

Looking for a salad but not sure where to go? I put together a quick list of my favorite salad spots in town so the next time you’re looking for a leafy lunch in the Fort, you’ll have some ideas!

Carpenter’s Cafe and Catering

Address: 1116 Pennsylvania Ave

Carpenter’s is home of the “Smokey Chick,” described as “NOT yo mama’s chicken salad, all spiced up and savory.” As if that’s not enough to get your attention, they added it to the Southen Slapped Garden Salad. The salad is a bed of greens, topped with bacon pieces, purple onion, sweet pepper, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded parmesan and a mini scoop of the Smokey Chick. It’s the perfect snack, lunch, dinner - really any excuse to eat it is appropriate.

Local Foods Kitchen

Address: 4548 Hartwood Dr

It’s hard for me to emphasize just how much I love the salads, here. My favorite is the MexCrunch salad. It has greens, black beans, pico, avocado, pepita seeds, corn tortilla, queso fresco, peppers, cabbage, and topped creamy cilantro dressing & drizzled with chipotle orange barbecue sauce. Also, you can get any of Local Foods Kitchen’s salads in wrap form for a salaf on-the-go!

Spiral Diner & Bakery

Address: 1314 W Magnolia Ave

Spiral Diner is one of my favorite spots, but if you’re feeling on the lighter side - try out the Hail Caesar Salad. It has crispy breaded chicken strips served on greens, tossed in their house made caesar dressing and topped with a sprinkle of cashew parmesan with a side of garlic bread. It’s a perfect salad for a hot day and a walk down Magnolia.

HG Supply

Address: 1621 River Run #176

Located in Westbend on the Trinity Trails, this is a perfect patio to sit back and enjoy a salad. My personal favorite is the Shaved Brussels Salad. It has brussels sprouts, kale, smoked almonds, and dried cherries topped with a Texas made honey-mustard vinaigrette. Grab a salad and a drink and enjoy the view from their outstanding patio!

Press Cafe

Address: 4801 Edwards Ranch Rd #105

Press Cafe is a solid stop for most occasions. They have a solid lineup of salad options, my favorite being the Crab Cake Salad. With watercress, kale, tomatoes, corn, avocado, red onion, and a lemon dressing - grab one on the patio or even to go to eat at the Trinity Trailhead right outside for a perfect lunch.

Great Harvest Bread Co

Address: 1305 W Magnolia Ave

Great Harvest has fresh baked bread and some incredible sandwiches, but don’t skip on the salads! Their Hippie Chick Salad is one of those “perfect for any day” salads. With mixed greens, chicken, spiced seeds & nuts, roasted chickpeas, golden raisins, and parmesan cheese topped with (house-made) avocado goddess dressing - it’s worth grabbing. And hey, while you’re there - pick up some of their signature Honey Whole Wheat Bread!

Istanbul Grill

Address: 401 Throckmorton St.

Located downtown, this Mediterranean restaurant has some of the best Turkish dishes - including salads. The Shepherd Salad is one of my favorites with plum tomato, cucumber, onion, fresh dill, feta cheese and topped with red wine vinaigrette dressing. Next time you need a date night, a brunch spot, or maybe just finding yourself downtown and hungry - make sure to stop by!

The Tavern

Address: 2755 S Hulen St.

The Tavern is one of those reliable food stops in the city. They have a Fort Worth Cobb Salad that has roasted turkey, smoked ham, warm bacon, hand cut vegetables, chopped egg, blue cheese, and thousand island dressing that’ll keep you coming back!

Cocoshrimp

Address: 318 Bryan Ave.

Ok ok, so maybe not exactly what you were thinking of when I said “salad” but with any order at Cocoshrimp, you can replace the butter rice with greens to make the meal into a salad. Really though, if the option to make their signature Cocoshrimp into a salad is an option, of course it would land on my list!
